Verbier is a world famous ski resort in Switzerland, blessed with world standard terrain and legendary après ski facilities. The chalet-style architecture adds to Verbier’s charm all the more. Verbier is located at the French speaking part of Valais region in Val de Bagnes in southwestern Switzerland. Verbier is one of the largest holiday resorts in the Swiss Alps.
Verbier is comparatively a new ski resort in Europe where serious skiing activities started as late as 1970s when the village of Verbier was linked up with other local villages to constitute Les Quatres Vallées ski resort. Switzerland is known to be home to slopes full of snow and the Wengen Ski Resort is no exception. It is situated in probably the most stunning location of the Swiss Alps Mountains and has sub zero temperatures and most people consider the place to be the ‘Dream’ holiday destination.
The area boasts of long and gentle runs and is wonderful place to ski for the intermediate skier. There’s a lot to explore for the Beginners as well in the center of the complex. Fabulous skiing at the top of Europe
Zermatt (from ‘Zur Matte’ meaning in the meadow) ski resort, located in the German-speaking region of Valais canton (Visp district) in southern Swiss Alps near the Swiss-Italian border, is one of the nine resorts in the world that offer scope of skiing entirely at altitude higher than 2,200 metres. The top two T-bars at Zermatt remain open for the tourists during summer season. The resort elevation is 1,620 metres while the top elevation is 3,900 metres.
The village of Zermatt is located about 10 km from Theodul Pass (3,300 metres high) bordering Italy. It is surrounded by high mountains of the Penine Alps including Monte Rosa (Switzerland’s highest peak), Dom, Lyskamm, Weisshorn and the Matterhorn.

The Aviemore Ski Resort is amongst the most beautiful ski resorts in Great Britain. Located in the famous Cairngorm National Park in Northern Scotland, the resort is a very busy and famous tourist resort. In fact, the Aviemore Ski Resort has become the face of the Scottish tourism industry. The resort is easily accessible via bus, train and car. Skiing in the Scottish Highlands
Glenshee is one of the most famous and largest ski resorts in Europe. Glenshee is located in the Cairngorm Mountains in the Grampian region of the eastern Scottish Highlands. The cities of Perth, Aberdeen and Inverness are closely located to Glenshee. Glenshee, owing to its big size, is also referred to as the ‘Scottish Three Valleys’ after the world’s largest lift-linked ski area at Courchevel and Meribel in France.
The resort elevation is 650 metres while the top elevation is 1,060 metres.

The newest ski resort in the United Kingdom
Nevis Range in Lochaber region of the Western Scottish Highlands is the newest ski area in the United Kingdom. It is situated close to Fort William and Ben Nevis Mountain (1,344 metres) in the Grampian mountain range. Nevis Range has the reputation of a world class mountain-biking area. Nevis range had played host to the Mountain Bike World Cup in 2009. The resort elevation of Nevis range is 640 metres while the top elevation is 1,221 metres.

Remarkable tree-skiing at Whistler-Blackcomb
Whistler ski resort is one of the best known ski resorts in North America, thanks to its largest skiable area, a considerably long vertical drop and a healthy snow record. Whistler is located in the Coast Mountains in British Columbia in western Canada. The resort is 125km north of the city of Vancouver and just outside Garibaldi Provincial (wildreness) Park. Intrawest, a subsidiary of Fortress Investment Group owns Whistler ski resort.
It was in 1997 when the two separate ski areas of Whistler and Blackcomb were integrated (following the merger of Intrawest with Whistler Mountain Ski Corporation). In 2003, the ticketing facilities, pass and access control systems for the two ski areas were also integrated.
