Vermont is the home to many great skiing resorts such as Stowe Mountain Resort, Stratton Mountain Resort, Sugarbush Resort, and Smugglers’ Notch Resort. However, in this article, I am going to focus on the Killington Mountain Resort & Ski Area that is the largest ski area in the eastern North America with its 17000 skiers per day. Bobsled Competition In New York

Bobsled is a sport in which two or four people sit together in a sled and race down an iced pathway. This sled runs through narrow pathways that banks and twists. This gets the sleds to go down at speeds that reach up to one hundred and fifty kilo meters per hour. Caspar Badrutt had come up with the concept of making pathways; which were designed for bobsleds for the entertainment of his guests. His more affluent guests were bored in their hotel suite, so they made sleds that attached to each other and raced it on roadways, narrow passageways that was dangerous to the public. Timberline Ski Resort

If you are planning for a winter vacation in West Virginia, then Timberline Ski Resort is the place you must choose. Timberline Ski Area presides over the central Canaan Valley and provides stunning views of the surrounding area. The small town of Davis, where Timberline Ski Resort is located, exudes great appeal. Snowbird ski resort

Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort is located in the heart of Wasatch National Forest in Little Cottonwood Canyon in Utah in the United States. Snowbird ski resort shares the canyon with Alta Ski Area in the east. Both the resorts receive over 500 inches of annual snowfall per year, which makes it the greatest area of snowfall in the continental United States outside the Cascades. However, unlike the humid and wet snow of the Cascades, Snowbird experiences an unusually dry and powdery snow. Mt. Baker ski resort

Mt. Baker ski resort is located in Whatcom County in Washington in the US. The base elevation of Mt. Baker is 1,070 metres while the summit elevation is 1,551 metres. The resort has a vertical drop of 1,589 metres. Mt. Baker ski resort enjoys the highest average annual snowfall (641 inches). In 1998-99 season, it witnessed the biggest snowfall ever recorded in the world (1,140 inches). Mt. Baker is part of the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. Holiday Valley ski resort

Holiday Valley is a splendid skiing and snowboarding resort located in western New York. The resort, which has stepped into its 52nd season, features fifty-six slopes spread over four different faces and has a 750 foot vertical drop. Holiday Valley is reputed for its diverse terrain and particularly for the ski-town of Ellicottville.
