The super fast Bobsleds

Bobsled is a winter sport in which two or four people sit together; one behind the other in a sled. This makes its run through narrow- sloping ice pathways that are banked and twisted sending the sled sliding down at high speeds. The first bobsled track was built in Switzerland which was designed for traveling. Caspar Badrutt, owner of the Krup Hotel built the half-pipe track in eighteen-seventy. The earlier ones were two skeleton sleds; that were attached together with a board and a steering mechanism. Caspar Badrutts’ more affluent guests started using the ‘delivery sleds’ for recreation and sliding into village lanes and roads. Bobsled Competition In New York

Bobsled is a sport in which two or four people sit together in a sled and race down an iced pathway. This sled runs through narrow pathways that banks and twists. This gets the sleds to go down at speeds that reach up to one hundred and fifty kilo meters per hour. Caspar Badrutt had come up with the concept of making pathways; which were designed for bobsleds for the entertainment of his guests. His more affluent guests were bored in their hotel suite, so they made sleds that attached to each other and raced it on roadways, narrow passageways that was dangerous to the public.
