Honored as the Best Australian Ski Resort in 2008, the Perisher Blue is largest skiing resort not only in the country, but also in the southern hemisphere. Formerly known as the Perisher Blue, the resort is nestled in the Australian Snowy Mountains in the southeastern area of New South Wales in the Snowy River Shire. The merger of four resorts namely, the Perisher Valley, Smiggins Holes, Blue Cow, and Guthega along with several lifts assures a memorable skiing and snowboarding experience appropriate for all levels.
The base elevation is at 1,640 m AHD, while the peak elevation at the top of Mount Perisher is 2,054 m. Accessible by road and by the Skitube that is the only underground rack-railway in the continent, the Ski Resort is the biggest one in Australia offering the deepest average snow depth. Perisher boasts more than 50 lifts – the Village Eight Express – an eight seater chairlift, two high-speed Quad removable chairlifts, four fixed-grip Quad chairlifts, two Triple chairlifts, four Double chairlifts, 21 T-Bars, four J-bars, four ski carpets, and eight other types of skier and boarder moving devices. With international class facilities, the Perisher Blue alpine resorts offer a snow-clad terrain of 1250 hectares stretching on seven mountain-tops – all linked by these ski lifts.
Perisher ensures that you enjoy all kinds of grand snow holiday activities irrespective of whether you are a beginner, intermediate, and advanced skier or snowboarder belonging to any age. For the beginner skiers and snowboarders; gentle, safe, and entertaining slopes at Pleasant and Pretty Valley aid you in improving your skills. The intermediate skiers and snowboarders are sure to be delighted with the myriad of Perisher descents of which the Mt Perisher and Guthega Park boasts a few longest twisting fast trails. For the advanced skiers and snowboarders, the groomed slopes of Hypertrail and the trees of Devils Playground on Perisher Mountain are recommended during the morning time. Other favorite spots are the virgin snowy bowls and steep shafts on Mt Blue Cow.
Season
The skiing starts from the second week of June to first week of October of which July and August is the main skiing period. But, snowmaking starts in the last week of May and has gained much importance due to prolonged drought.

This true Perisher experience takes in some guests on its selected area in the resort on Tuesday and Thursday mornings in the months of July, August, and September. Operating on a first-come, first-serve basis, it allows only intermediate to advanced standard guests having a valid day or season pass. Guests are picked from the Perisher Valley Hotel at 7.15 am and are taken to Eyre T-Bar where they are exposed to the lift from 7.30 to 9.00 am with no crowd except a guide and Ski Patrol. The total cost is $58 with a valid Lift Ticket and offers skiing and boarding in fresh powder as you see the sun rising. - Club Penguin Tube Town & Snow Experience
