Captivating skiing at Davos

Davos, a place that often catches the headlines for holding international conferences involving world leaders (World Economic Forum), is one of the frontline ski resorts of Europe. Davos is located in Graubünden canton in Switzerland. The area is mainly dominated by Alpine peaks and valleys and is located on the Landwasser River between Plessur and Albula Ranges. The Prättigau Valley connects Davos with the Landquart, an administrative district of Graubünden. Davos is also known for its extensive spa facilities and healthcare services (Davos was more popular as a health resort before skiing took over). The resort elevation of Davos is 1,560 metres (making it the highest city in Europe) while the top elevation is 2,844 metres. Fantastic skiing at Val-d’Isère

The commune of Val-d’Isère is located in Tarentaise Valley (some of world’s best ski resorts like Paradiski including Les Arcs, La Plagne and Les Trois Vallées including Courchevel, Meribel and Val Thorens are located here) in Savoie department in the Rhône-Alpes region in south-eastern France near the Franco-Italian border. Val-d’Isère is situated on the border of the Vanoise National Park, the oldest national park in France that was created in 1963 (Vanoise National Park is contiguous with Gran Paradiso National Park in Italy). The Face de Bellevarde, probably the steepest piste in the valley, was the venue of the men’s downhill race during the 1992 Winter Olympics. Cortina: A skiing marvel in Italy

Cortina d’Ampezzo is one of the world’s best skiing resorts located in Veneto Region in the Province of Belluno in northeastern Italy.
