Hemsedal ranks amongst Scandinavia’s best and largest ski resorts. Tremblant is a premier ski resort located in Laurentian Mountains, which are situated north of Montreal (130 km) in the French-speaking Canadian province of Quebec. Mainly a ski resort, Mont Tremblant (meaning the ‘Trembling Mountain’) is also a favourite destination of swimmers and golfers. The peak has an elevation of 875 metres. Both Mont Tremblant and the resort are part of the Mont Tremblant National Park. Joe Ryan, an explorer from Philadelphia, had played key role in developing the beautiful Tremblant into a major resort area in the later 1930s. The resort also features traditional Quebec architectural reminiscence. Lowell Thomas, renowned radio broadcaster from the US, also helped popularize the resort.
