Excellent Alpine skiing at Kranjska Gora

Kranjska Gora in Slovenia is one of the best Alpine skiing resorts in Europe. It is a town located in northwestern Slovenia in Sava Dolinka Valley that separates the Karavanke mountain range from the Julian Alps. Kranjska Gora is indeed very close to the country’s border with Italy and Austria. Ljubljana, the national capital, is 90 km southwest from Kranjska Gora. The resort elevation is 803 metres while the top elevation is 1,291 metres. The skiing runs of Kranjska Gora are located on the eastern slopes of Mt Vitranc (1,631 metres) while cross-country skiing trails lead westwards to the Planica hill, which plays host to Ski Jumping World Championships each March, in Tamar Valley. Squaw Valley Ski Resort – Have Fun

Squaw Valley ski resort is located in Olympic Valley, Placer County, California, United States and is one of the largest ski resorts in the country. The resort, which was opened in 1949 and played host to the 1960 Winter Olympics and events of the World Cup tour in 1969, is the second largest ski area at Lake Tahoe region (Heavenly being the largest). Hidden Valley Ski Resort At Laurel Highlands

Hidden Valley ski resort is located in Laurel Highlands in southwestern Pennsylvania in the United States. The ownership of Hidden Valley shifted from the Kettler family to Buncher Company in 2007. The latter, subsequently upgraded the resort, adding state-of-the-art snowguns and new groomers in the process. In 2008, a new quad chairlift along with 50 more state-of-the-art snowguns were set up here. Buncher Company has more plans to develop the resort even more in next few years including new lodging complexes. Fascinating skiing runs of Méribel

Méribel ski resort is located in Tarentaise Valley in the French Alps near the town of Moutiers. Méribel mainly refers to three adjacent villages in the Les Allues commune of the Savoie département of France called Méribel Centre, Méribel-Mottaret and Méribel Village. Méribel  hosted the events of Ice Hockey and Women’s  Downhill in the 1992 Winter Olympics. Méribel has Courchevel to the east and Les Menuires and Val Thorens to the west. Mottaret, on the other hand, is a few hundred metres above from Méribel. The ski resort is part of the Trois Vallées ski area. Mammoth Mountain ski resort

Mammoth Mountain ski resort (Mammoth in short) is located at Inyo National Forest lying to the east of Sierra Nevada mountain range in eastern California in the United States. Yosemite National Park is located to the west of Mammoth ski area. Mammoth is particularly a top skiing destination for residents of Southern California. Marvellous Winter Park ski resort

Winter Park ski resort located in Grand County in Colorado in the Rocky Mountains in western USA. The resort is just an hour and a half’s drive from Denver in Colorado. Winter Park is the nearest city to the ski resort. The top elevationof the ski resort is 3,680 metres while skiable area is 11.18 square kilometres. Steep down skiing at Les Arcs

Les Arcs is a ski resort located in the Tarentaise Valley town of Bourg-Saint-Maurice in Savoie in France. Les Arcs is a part of the Paradiski system (the new vanoise Express cable car has helped it more) owned by Compagnie des Alpes, a French company that owns various ski resorts and theme parks. Aiguille Rouge at the top of Mt Blanc is to the north of the resort.  Les Arcs mainly comprises Bourg-Saint-Maurice, Arch 1600 (first to open in 1968), Arch 1800, Arch 1950 and Arch 2000. Les Arcs has hosted international winter sports events like Quik Cup and the World Speed Skiing Championships on its ‘Flying Kilometre’. Fantastic skiing at Val-d’Isère

The commune of Val-d’Isère is located in Tarentaise Valley (some of world’s best ski resorts like Paradiski including Les Arcs, La Plagne and Les Trois Vallées including Courchevel, Meribel and Val Thorens are located here) in Savoie department in the Rhône-Alpes region in south-eastern France near the Franco-Italian border. Val-d’Isère is situated on the border of the Vanoise National Park, the oldest national park in France that was created in 1963 (Vanoise National Park is contiguous with Gran Paradiso National Park in Italy). The Face de Bellevarde, probably the steepest piste in the valley, was the venue of the men’s downhill race during the 1992 Winter Olympics.
