A perfect place for family holiday

Background: The marvelous ski area of Holiday Valley in south Ellicottville was first opened commercially in 1957-58, fulfilling the dream of Dick Congdon, John Fisher and Bill Northrup to open a modern ski area in Ellicottville in New York in the USA. The ski area began operating with 4 slopes and a T-bar that descended down to Yodeler, Champagne, Holiday Run and Edelweiss. Organised skiing at Ellicottville dates back to 1935 when Fish Hill was opened. In 1938, Ellicottville Ski Club was formed which drew people from Buffalo, Rochester and Cleveland.  Holiday Valley, however, has come a far distance from where it had started. Kirkwood Ski Resort

Kirkwood Ski Resort is also called Kirkwood Mountain Resort is a fantastic skiing resort in California in the USA. Kirkwood, which had about 96 people during the 2000 census, is located within Eldorado National Forest. Background In 1863, following the opening of the Amador/Nevada Wagon Toll Road passing through the Sierra Vevada Mountains, Zack Rancher, a local cattle raiser had opened an inn called Kirkwood’s. In 1864, with the creation of the Alpine County and redrawing of the county borders, the inn came to be placed at the convergence if the Alpine, El Dorado and the Amador counties (the borders were changed again later). Hidden Valley Ski Resort At Laurel Highlands

Hidden Valley ski resort is located in Laurel Highlands in southwestern Pennsylvania in the United States. The ownership of Hidden Valley shifted from the Kettler family to Buncher Company in 2007. The latter, subsequently upgraded the resort, adding state-of-the-art snowguns and new groomers in the process. In 2008, a new quad chairlift along with 50 more state-of-the-art snowguns were set up here. Buncher Company has more plans to develop the resort even more in next few years including new lodging complexes. The resort includes a Sports Club, an 18-hole golf course, 12 tennis courts, 30 mile long hiking and biking trails, a Conference Centre, a 4-acre lake and four swimming pools. Tignes: A hotspot for skiing

Tignes ski resort in Savoie in southeastern France in the western Alps close to the Swiss and Italian borders is one of the highest skiing spots in France and remains snow-covered throughout the season (skiing here remains closed only for a few weeks in May, June and September). Tignes turns into skiers’ paradise during the winter owing to the presence of Grande Motte glacier (3,456 metres high). Tignes, along with with Val d’Isère, forms part of the Espace Killy ski area (10,000-hectare in area). The resort elevation is 1,550 metres while the top elevation is 3,450 metres. Après-ski at Sestriere

Sastriere is a popular skiing resort in the Province of Turin in the Piedmont region in Italy. This alpine village, along with Pragelato, Claviere, Sauze d’Oulx, Cesana Torinese and San Sicario, and Montgenèvre in France, makes up Via Lattea (Milky Way) skiing area. Sestriere is located 17 km from the France-Italy border in the west. Sestriere is, in fact, one of Europe’s highest resorts. Sestriere was built by the manufacturers of the famous Italian car brand FIAT. The two hotel towers here, built by FIAT’s founder, Giovanni Agnelli way back in the 1930s stand as the symbol of Sestriere. Sestriere is one of the earliest resorts to have pioneered in snowmaking.
