A ‘heavenly’ skiing resort
Heavenly Mountain skiing resort is located in South Lake Tahoe on the California (El Dorado County)-Nevada (Douglas County) border in the United States. The resort is spread over an area of 48,000 acres making it the largest ski resort by area in California. Heavenly is the highest ski resort in Tahoe with a peak elevation of 3,068 metres and a vertical rise of 1,067 metres. South Lake Tahoe is the nearest city to the resort. Heavenly was bought by Vail Resorts Inc. in 2002.

Skiers’ paradise called Grindelwald
Grindelwald is one of the oldest ski resorts in Europe that dates back to the late 19th century. Grindelwald is located in Interlaken district within Bernese Oberland canton in the south-central Switzerland. Grindelwald village is located at an elevation of 1,034 metres above sea level in the Bernese Alps. The top elevation of the resort is 2,971 metres.
Skiing at Grindelwald:
Skiing season at Grindelwald begins from mid December to mid April. Skiers here can choose to ski either at Grindelwald’s First ski area or at the Kleine Scheidegg and Mannlichen sector that spreads into the neighbouring Wengen.

Blue Mountain Ski Resort
Skiing at Blue Mountain ski resort is located on Blue Mountain (ridge on the eastern edge of the Appalachian mountain range) in the northern part of Lehigh Valley in Pennsylvania. The resort is one of the most popular in Proconos. Nearest city is Palmerton. Mountain Blue ski resort also has a ski team of more than 50 players.
History:
Ray Tuthill had started Blue Mountain ski resort in the late 1970s. In 2002-03, Blue Mountain received a facelift when it got two advanced runs and two beginner slopes. Fabulous skiing at the top of Europe
Zermatt (from ‘Zur Matte’ meaning in the meadow) ski resort, located in the German-speaking region of Valais canton (Visp district) in southern Swiss Alps near the Swiss-Italian border, is one of the nine resorts in the world that offer scope of skiing entirely at altitude higher than 2,200 metres. The top two T-bars at Zermatt remain open for the tourists during summer season. The resort elevation is 1,620 metres while the top elevation is 3,900 metres.
The village of Zermatt is located about 10 km from Theodul Pass (3,300 metres high) bordering Italy. It is surrounded by high mountains of the Penine Alps including Monte Rosa (Switzerland’s highest peak), Dom, Lyskamm, Weisshorn and the Matterhorn.

Winter Park ski resort located in Grand County in Colorado in the Rocky Mountains in western USA. The resort is just an hour and a half’s drive from Denver in Colorado. Winter Park is the nearest city to the ski resort. The top elevationof the ski resort is 3,680 metres while skiable area is 11.18 square kilometres. This resort has a history of being a laid-back spot although it has undergone a big makeover in recent times (Intrawest has played key role behind its development) with new lifts and an entirely new resort village at its base. There is a traditional resort base alongside the new resort village known by the name of Fraser, which gives a real ski town feel. A day out at park City ski resort
Park City is located in the Wasatch Mountains of the state of Utah in the United States and is located very near to the state’s capital, Salt Lake City. Park City ski resort is a fabulous place covered with light snow and punctuated by woodlands. The main street at Park City, which ascends to the mountain, is crowded with restaurants, bars and shops although it gets quieter downtown and most of the accommodation facilities are located around here. The resort elevation is 2,100 metres while the top elevation is 3,048 metres. Park City played host to the 2002 Winter Olympics. Park City is home to the US ski team.

The ski resort at mountain peak
Copper Mountain is located in Summit County, Colorado, about 121 km west of Denver on I 70. The Copper Mountain ski resort was opened in 1972 and is maintained by Intrawest. The ski resort (largest in Summit County), which is known for its naturally separated terrain also provides opportunities for golf and mountain biking activities. Copper Mountain was host to the World Cup tour in 1976 and staged four alpine ski races. Copper Mountain is known to be a remarkable family destination with slopeside condo accommodation connected by charming walkways and squares.
