Kirkwood Ski Resort

Kirkwood Ski Resort is also called Kirkwood Mountain Resort is a fantastic skiing resort in California in the USA. Kirkwood, which had about 96 people during the 2000 census, is located within Eldorado National Forest. Background In 1863, following the opening of the Amador/Nevada Wagon Toll Road passing through the Sierra Vevada Mountains, Zack Rancher, a local cattle raiser had opened an inn called Kirkwood’s. In 1864, with the creation of the Alpine County and redrawing of the county borders, the inn came to be placed at the convergence if the Alpine, El Dorado and the Amador counties (the borders were changed again later). Skiing at the magnificent La Thuile

La Thuile ski resort at Aosta Valley of the Alps Mountains in north-western Italy near the country’s border with France is a blend of tradition and modernity. The resort, which has developed from small hamlets in the Aosta Valley, currently features large and modern complex. At the skiable glacier of Les Doux Alpes

Les Deux Alpes is one of France’s oldest ski resorts (second oldest after Chamonix, the location of the largest mountain in western Europe). It is located in Dauphiné area of southern Alps of France. Although the Pied Moutet area is smaller, the main skiing area ascends to the big glacier, making Les Deux Alpes one of the world’s highest resorts as well. The resort’s altitude is 1650 metres while the vertical drop is 2,298 metres. The highest lift is 3,568 metres. Le Doux Alpes is made up of two Alpine villages (Venosc and Mont de Lans) that were put together to form a ski resort more than 50 years ago.
